Welcome to frperc.com, this is the sister website of the re-established Food Refrigeration and Process Engineering Research Centre (FRPERC) at The Grimsby Institute (GIFHE).

The Food Refrigeration & Process Engineering Research Centre (FRPERC) was established in 1991 as part of the University of Bristol.  The staff had previously been members of the Institute of Food Research – Bristol Laboratory (formally the Meat Research Institute) founded in 1967.  In 2009 FRPERC moved and is now part of the Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education (GIFHE) and based at the Humber Seafood Institute (HSI) in Grimsby (“Europe’s Food Town”).

We are here to help all parts of the food industry with any production and process engineering problems they may have.  We have extensive experience of working with all sizes of company, from large multi-nationals to one-man-bands, and all types of foods, from raw meats, poultry, fish and vegetables to processed ready meals.

This website has been produced to review, celebrate, and conserve the research carried out in our previous incarnations at Langford over the last 44 years on Food Process Engineering, and to report on the continuing research being carried out by the re-established FRPERC at Grimsby.
